The Duggi neighborhood forms an irregular pentagon that is delimited as follows: from the Glorieta de La Paz, at the confluence of the Rambla de Santa Cruz and the Avenida de La Asunción, it follows the axis of the Rambla de Pulido eastward to Galcerán street, separating from the neighborhoods of Zona Rambla and Los Hoteles. From Galcerán Street, it follows in a southerly direction until the bridge of the same name, dividing from Zona Centro. At the bridge, the boundary with the neighborhood of La Salle is the bed of the Santos ravine heading west to the bridge of the Avenida de La Asunción, a road that takes a northeasterly direction to the starting point at the Glorieta de La Paz.[3] Here there is also the Centro Sociosanitario de La Salle.

Here you can also find the Santa Cruz Social and Health Center,[4] the Ana Bautista Municipal Pavilion and the Barranco de Santos Sports Center,[5] the Cine Víctor theater[6] and the former Artillery Park, headquarters of the Canary Islands Command Headquarters.[7] The neighborhood of Duggi is made up of the Duggi neighborhood, which is the main neighborhood of the city.

The neighborhood of Duggi was constituted between 1903 and 1906, being the third neighborhood of the city to be constituted with regular residents after El Toscal and Los Llanos.[8] The neighborhood was a private initiative of Luis Duggi, former mayor of Santa Cruz, dedicated to the slave trade and owner of most of the property on which the neighborhood would settle, which he gave to the city in 1874 for its widening. [9] The neighborhood had a new push in its western part, in which a private individual, Juan Sitjá y Capmany, built fifty houses on the lots between Castro Street and La Asunción Avenue, so that in 1903 it was practically finished. 9]
