It is laid out along a line of blocks of five blocks each arranged perpendicularly to the Avenida de la Virgen del Mar with parking and gardens alternating in the inter-block spaces. The management of the gardens is carried out in a self-managed manner by means of fees paid by the different neighborhood communities.

It is considered one of the best endowed neighborhoods in Cordoba. In addition, given the absence of commercial premises in the houses, some commercial premises are located in the neighborhood that provide almost all the necessary services.

AVV del Barrio Santuario has been very active since the origins of the neighborhood. It stands out for having been the first to use the recycling system that would later be extended to all of Cordoba and for having been a pioneer in promoting the renovation of homes and the installation of elevators in the neighborhood.[2]
